The Australian Government understands the importance of energy efficiency in helping the country reduce energy and in turn fossil fuel consumption in alignment with set targets. To help Australian businesses along the journey, they recently released a $16 million grant designed to fund the improvement or replacement of core equipment that is not energy efficient.
Included in the project's scope was refrigeration, an area that can account for up to 70% of a business's power bill.
With allocation is broken out proportionally by state, businesses could submit a project plan for consideration and if approved, receive up to $25,000 to help fund the replacement or improvement of equipment.
To assist businesses in understanding the energy efficiency of various refrigeration options available, SKOPE developed a helpful tool that allows users to compare GEMS (Greenhouse & Energy Minimum Standards) data across multiple GEMS registered products to gain an understanding of where their current product sits, and what could be possible through upgrading.
