Manufacturer’s Warranty Terms
1. In these Warranty Terms:
1.1. Customer means the first user of the Goods for commercial purposes.
1.2. Goods means the SKOPE branded products (and any distributed products branded Irinox, Vitamix Commercial, and ITV), equipment, cabinets, and any associated components, sold or supplied by SKOPE, to the Customer, and covered by these Warranty Terms, as listed in Appendix One.
Manufacturer's Warranty
2. Subject to these Warranty Terms, SKOPE warrants to the Customer (at the point of first installation only) that, for the period shown in the table at Appendix One, commencing on the date of purchase, the Goods will be free from defects in materials or workmanship.
3. If SKOPE determines that a defect in materials or workmanship has caused the Goods to malfunction under correct use and in normal operating conditions, during the applicable warranty period, SKOPE will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the Goods or the relevant defective part.
4. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SKOPE's liability under these Warranty Terms is limited to repairing or replacing the Goods, or the relevant defective part, and will not exceed the purchase price of the Goods or the relevant defective part.
5. SKOPE provides 12 months replacement-only warranty for SKOPE spare parts. SKOPE's warranty does not cover labour costs for removing or replacing a faulty or failed spare part.
Intended Use
6. Goods are designed for, and have the appropriate certifications, licences, and accreditations for use in commercial food and beverage applications. These Warranty Terms apply only to Goods purchased and used strictly in accordance with those applications.
7. SKOPE’s standard Goods are not designed, nor have the appropriate certifications, licences, or accreditations, for use in personal, domestic, household, medical, laboratory, or any other applications inconsistent with applications stated above at clause 6. The Customer warrants that Goods will not be used for any applications other than those listed in clause 6, unless explicitly stated otherwise by SKOPE. To the extent permitted by law, SKOPE does not warrant its Goods used in such applications and is not liable for any issues or costs arising from the placement or use of the Goods in such environments.
Warranty Call-Outs
8. Subject to these Warranty Terms, SKOPE's liability for any defect in workmanship or materials only arises where SKOPE or SKOPE's nominated agent has attended the site and assessed the Goods pursuant to a warranty service visit (Warranty Call-Out), and has determined, acting reasonably, that the defect is covered by these Warranty Terms.
9. Standard Warranty Call-Outs shall be provided between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays), in the area in which the Goods are situated (Standard Business Hours). Should a Customer require a Warranty Call-Out outside those Standard Business Hours, all additional costs associated with that call-out including, but not limited to, overtime payments, penalty rates, and minimum charge-out fees, will be quoted by SKOPE to the Customer and must be paid prior to the Warranty Call‑Out proceeding. The Customer acknowledges that a Warranty Call-Out attended outside Standard Business Hours may not result in repair of the Goods if the technician does not have access to suitable parts, equipment, or technical support at the time. In such cases any follow-up visits will be within Standard Business Hours.
10. While SKOPE will make reasonable efforts to visit the Customer’s site at a time that is convenient to the Customer, SKOPE is not liable for failing to meet its obligations under these Warranty Terms if the Customer is unable to accommodate a Warranty Call-Out within SKOPE’s Standard Business Hours.
11. In the event that a Warranty Call-Out determines that SKOPE is not liable under these Warranty Terms, the Customer will be directly liable for the cost of the call-out and any and all costs incurred for labour, parts, or any other direct costs related to the call-out. SKOPE may charge those costs to any credit card provided as security when the Warranty Call-Out was booked or may invoice the Customer for those costs after the call-out.
12. Whilst SKOPE will use its best endeavours to ensure a service performed under these Warranty Terms will be completed promptly, SKOPE does not guarantee that it will be carried out within any particular timeframe, including where timing is affected by parts availability, technician availability, access to the Goods, travel requirements, or other circumstances beyond SKOPE’s reasonable control.
General exclusions
13. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SKOPE is not liable under these Warranty Terms for any of the following:
13.1. any cost, loss, liability, damage of any kind, or expenses, directly or indirectly arising from the use or inability to use the Goods or from any other cause;
13.2. breakage of glass or plastic components including shelves, or the replacement of consumable parts including but not limited to door seals / gaskets, or core probes;
13.3. installation or removal costs other than standard labour costs by SKOPE's authorised agents during Standard Business Hours;
13.4. costs associated with removal of any stainless steel, benches, cabinets, or any other equipment that is inhibiting or preventing direct access to the Goods to enable a warranty repair or replacement to be carried out;
13.5. travelling time in excess of 100 kms, or 1½ hours, per attendance, by SKOPE's service agent, whichever is the lesser;
13.6. additional costs incurred by an authorised service agent to access the site, including ferry, aircraft, or other travel costs, which are payable by the Customer;
13.7. service costs incurred for work undertaken outside of Standard Business Hours as requested by the Customer
14. These Warranty Terms do not apply where:
14.1. the Goods have been installed incorrectly or otherwise than in accordance with
SKOPE's instructions, including (without limitation) where the Goods are:
14.1.1. connected to an inadequate, faulty or unsuitable power supply;
14.1.2. installed on an uneven surface or without being correctly levelled;
14.1.3. installed without adequate space or ventilation around the Goods; or
14.1.4. improperly commissioned.
14.2. the Goods are not operated in accordance with SKOPE’s instructions, including
(without limitation), where:
14.2.1. the Goods are operated in environments exceeding the maximum approved ambient temperature;
14.2.2. airflow within the Goods is adversely affected due to obstruction of air ducts;
14.2.3. operating the Goods in environments where ambient humidity exceeds the maximum approved product guidelines causing excessive condensation.
14.3. any remote installation does not comply with SKOPE's installation guidelines, has insufficient unit capacity (when compared with SKOPE's specifications), has inadequate pipework, or has not been correctly commissioned;
14.4. remote cabinets are warranted only for manufacturer's defects in SKOPE-supplied cabinets for the warranty period outlined for the relevant Series, as listed in Appendix One. Unless otherwise specified, SKOPE does not warrant the installation of the cabinet or the performance of the cabinet arising from specifications, equipment or component selection by an installer or specifier;
14.5. repairs or significant maintenance have been carried out by anyone other than an
authorised SKOPE service agent, or where repairs have been carried out without
SKOPE’s prior written authorisation;
14.6. the defect arises directly or indirectly from a failure to maintain the Goods in
accordance with SKOPE's instructions, or from a failure to carry out planned
maintenance in accordance with SKOPE’s published requirements;
14.7. any part of the Goods has been subject to misuse, neglect, alteration, incorrect
installation, incorrect or corrosive environments, accident or damage caused by
vermin, use of abrasive chemicals or materials, flooding, fire, natural disaster, power
surge, or other acts of God;
14.8. damage is caused during transport arranged by a party other than SKOPE;
14.9. safety instructions relating to the Goods have not been adhered to correctly or the
Goods have not been installed or operated in accordance with the applicable
specifications; and
14.10. SKOPE’s badging, identification numbers, plates or marks have been altered or
removed.
15. Except as set out in these Warranty Terms and to the fullest extent permitted by law, SKOPE shall not be liable for any direct or indirect cost, loss, liability or damage (including special or consequential loss or loss of profits) of any kind arising out of, or directly or indirectly related to, any service agent, approved installer, or recommended service provider carrying out any work in connection with these Warranty Terms or otherwise in relation to any Goods and the Customer agrees to pursue all claims for compensation directly against the agent, provider or installer (as the case may be).
16. These Warranty Terms do not extend:
16.1. to Goods supplied under specific corporate or project-based warranty conditions;
16.2. beyond repair of the SKOPE cabinet when the condensing unit is remote from the cabinet; or
16.3. to Goods supplied to destinations other than New Zealand or Australia unless agreed in writing by SKOPE.
Specific exclusions
17. These Warranty Terms are subject to the following specific exclusions and conditions:
17.1. SKOPE refrigeration systems: the warranty applicable to SKOPE refrigeration systems is conditional upon regular cleaning of the condenser coil as instructed in the relevant user manual. Failure to carry out such cleaning may result in the warranty not applying.
17.2. Irinox products: the warranty for non-plug-in Irinox products applies only where installation has been carried out by a SKOPE approved installer or a contractor pre approved by SKOPE in writing and commissioned by SKOPE or an appointed agent. Where an Irinox non plug-in product is installed by another third party, the warranty is limited to a one-year parts-only warranty. The warranty applicable to Irinox products is conditional upon a planned maintenance program being carried out at least every six months by a suitably qualified technician. In the event of a fault, SKOPE may request supporting documentation to verify that servicing has been carried out in accordance with these Warranty Terms. Warranty does not include the replacement of consumable components such as Sanigen or failures arising from the customer not maintaining these systems as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
17.3. Vitamix products: the warranty applicable to Vitamix products comprises a three year parts warranty and a one-year labour warranty. Containers and blades are subject to a 12-month manufacturer's defect warranty only. All Vitamix warranty claims outside a 50km radius of a central post office are handled on a return-to-base basis for inspection and repair, at the Customer's cost. Consumable parts such as drive sockets, blade assemblies and containers (jugs) have limited warranties. Breakdowns arising from failure to adequately maintain blenders, including replacing these consumable parts, will not be covered under warranty.
17.4. ITV products: the warranty applicable to ITV products is conditional upon water filter systems being installed and maintained by suitably qualified technician.
17.5. Software and applications (apps): these Warranty Terms do not apply to any defect relating to or arising from any software or applications (apps) contained within, or used in connection with, any Goods.

18. The Customer should have available the serial number and model type (located on the inside top of the cabinet), the site address, a contact name and phone number, the purchase date and a description of the fault.
19. General terms: these Warranty Terms form part of the SKOPE Terms and Conditions of Sale. Except where the context otherwise requires, the provisions of the SKOPE Terms and Conditions of Sale apply to and are to be read in conjunction with these Warranty Terms, and terms defined in the SKOPE Terms and Conditions of Sale shall have the same meaning in these Warranty Terms.
20. Australian Consumer Law: the Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. The Customer is entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. The Customer is entitled to have the Goods repaired or replaced if the Goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
21. New Zealand Consumer Law: Where the Goods are acquired in New Zealand for business purposes, you acknowledge and agree that the Goods are supplied and acquired in trade and for business purposes, and that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Warranty Terms limits or excludes any rights, remedies or guarantees that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
22. SKOPE may amend or replace these Warranty Terms at any time. Updated Warranty Terms will be published on SKOPE’s website and will take effect from the effective date stated in the updated version.
