Bulletin No: SBG0085
Revision: 1.0 (Current version of this bulletin)

Overview

The door frame on Backbar three and four sliding door models (BB580-3SL and BB780-4SL) manufactured prior to December 2015 may sag if excessive force is applied to the bottom of the door frame. If sagging has occured on a cabinet manufactured prior to December 2015, a pair of SKOPE designed stabiliser brackets can be fitted to the cabinet to straighten and provide additional strength to the door frame.

Going forward, all Backbar BB580-3SL and BB780-4SL manufactured from December 2015 will be fitted with sliding door frame stabilisers at the factory. Note: The bracket can only be fitted where adequate clearance (approximately 50mm) is available under the door frame. This clearance is required to straighten the frame and to fix the bracket in place.

Parts

All parts required to stabilise the door frame are included in a kit, as shown in the table below. Order one kit per cabinet.

description

Fitting the Brackets

The brackets should be installed equally spaced under the door frame.

Before fitting the stabiliser brackets, the bottom of the door frame must first be straightened. There are various methods for straightening the frame including jacking up or levering up with a piece of timber. Ensure adequate clearance under the frame and use the most appropirate method depending on cabinet installation.

Once the bottom of the door frame is straight, position the bracket hard up against the bottom of the door frame and the front edge of the cabinet base as shown below. Drill small pilot holes through the front edge of the cabinet base, and fix the bracket in place with the three supplied self drilling screws.
