It took a 30-strong R&D team 18 months to develop SKOPE’s revolutionary refrigeration range for the hospitality and retail sector. We called it ActiveCore and it combines the best energy saving technology on the market, with a number of innovative features designed to deliver optimal performance, efficiency and reliability.
Before starting on this design and engineering project, we spent a lot of time with our customers listening to what matters most to them. Top of the list – as you might expect, was the need to avoid or eliminate downtime or wastage to a business when a refrigeration unit or chiller fails. We understand the last thing you need on your hands is product wastage, or a repairman in the middle of your cafe or shop trying to fix the problem onsite.
The wishlist also included a desire for quieter fridges that are less obtrusive in a hospitality environment, shelving that’s easy to move and adjust to fit different bottle and product heights, slick modern design and branding opportunities, maximum performance to quickly chill down products and keep them at the optimum temperature – especially when it’s hot outside, and energy efficiency that actually makes a difference to your power bills.
We are confident that the new ActiveCore products will meet the needs of our customers for many years to come – just as our existing technology has effectively stood the test of time.
Perhaps the most innovative aspect of this new range is the invention of the ActiveCore unit which is the heart of each fridge. This unit can be quickly and easily removed for maintenance or swapped out for another unit. No more waiting for repairs to be completed, no wastage of food, no disruption to your business.
ActiveCore delivers improved cooling performance, optimised airflow and redesigned components to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency for years to come. We’ve done the maths on how much replacing your existing fridge with one of the new ActiveCore fridges can save you in energy costs alone, and you are looking at a 35% – 55% saving in power consumption for a top mounted or bottom mounted fridge. Your power bill (per fridge) can go from $1,125 per year to just $509 per year – that’s a saving of more than $6,000 over 10 years.
And yes, we are confident that your ActiveCore fridge will still be working hard in your business after 10 years, just like previous SKOPE products, which are still working hard for their owners.

How to Respond to Increased Competition to your Bar, Café or Restaurant
A clear head goes a long way in a tough hospitality market.
“Choosing SKOPE was about design aesthetics, functionality, and also hygiene. But we also wanted to make sure we chose a product that we could clean easily and was from a brand that had a really fabled reputation founded on reliability.”
“SKOPE is a very important part of the picture because we need concepts that work on many levels – our venues need to be labour-efficient and maintenance-efficient, and we need the confidence that the equipment we choose can be relied upon.”
“SKOPE has worked extremely hard to develop their products and the technology that goes into them.”
“SKOPE is a company and brand we can trust.”
“During the New South Wales floods in Australia in 2021 a bottle shop lost everything. They were able to quickly access short term rental fridges to get back up and running whilst they waited for their insurance claim to be processed. Because most of the bottle shops were also damaged in the town, they were able to generate increased sales during this time.”
“A restaurant was experiencing supply delays of their equipment which was going to delay their new opening. We supplied them three double door fridges which they were able to rent short term. This meant they could open their business on time and start making money. Even if further delays were experienced, they were covered.”
